In the Third Chakra center of the Solar Plexus we arrive at the fiery expressions of Manipura. Here we encounter our power, our will, and the drive take action. Through Manipura Chakra the emotional experience of the self (found deep in the belly, in the Second Chakra) is channeled and directed into the world.
With a healthy Third Chakra, we feel confident, able to act and initiate, and clear about our ambitions, while imbalance in this energetic center creates distortions around our agency, drive, and the achievement of our goals. An over-charged 3rd Chakra tends to hold rigidity, stress, and an over-exertion of our will to be and do. It can also involve distortions concerning power dynamics including the need to control and dominate others, and the drive to realize personal ambitions at all costs. Weakness in Manipura Chakra manifests low vitality, challenges in the ability to stand up for oneself, and a lack commitment, enthusiasm and drive,
The 3rd Chakra is a stronghold of the ego and, as we dive into the work of energy healing, we find many of our belief systems exist here, at our solar plexus. Working with the consciousness of this chakra helps us to see what beliefs are held in the structure of this center.
Connecting to Manipura with awareness, touch, and love can shift the painful convictions which live here. In the process of this work we find a healthy relationship to our capacity to take action and an ability to direct our energy without strain or force, manipulation or anxiety.
